After coming up this design as a homepage, I then looked over it more closely and realized this would not work. After conducting my own critique and taking Professor Kinkostein's advice, I realized that I would have to simplify the website. More importantly, I would have to get rid of the bedroom set image in the middle and instead add a few seperate images and place them in a composition.
For example, the images below would be proper:
